4:19 Activity 04 Instructions
Lesson 4 (or “Day 4”) Material
Additional Explanation
This activity serves to reinforce science concepts previously absorbed from “same-topic” activities preceding it. By presenting as a small team in front of the class, public-speaking anxiety is lessened. Audience participants often will “hear and see” repeated information from more than one presenting team. Repeated information can be a positive consequence of multiple teams being assigned to present on the same – or, nearly the same – topic.
Presenting should include each team member verbalizing a portion of the content – even if at first that portion is limited to stating who the team members are (for example). Eventually, this activity should serve to increase student confidence in public speaking.
