“Understanding Humanistic Psychology: A Holistic Approach”
Humanistic psychology looks at people instead of just parts. People are constantly changing and growing, and their experiences are essential. It also includes a belief in spirituality and how it affects people’s minds.
The idea of humanistic psychology started with Carl Rogers. He wanted to help people develop in a healthy and creative way, which he thought was better than the negative ideas of other psychologists.
There are five basic ideas of humanistic psychology.
- People are more than just parts; they are a whole.
- People are part of the world around them.
- People are aware of themselves and others.
- People make choices and are responsible for their actions.
- People have goals, seek meaning and value, and are creative.
Holistic psychology is a way of understanding people that looks at all parts of them, including their thoughts, feelings, actions, and physical health. This means that instead of only looking at one part of a person’s behavior, we look at everything that makes them who they are. Holistic psychologists think that to help someone, we need to understand all the things that affect them, like their environment, relationships, and experiences. They use different techniques, like talking, meditation, and mindfulness, to help them feel good in their life.
What does “Holistic” mean?
Holistic means that everything is connected, and you can only understand how it works by looking at the whole thing, not just its parts.

Humanistic psychology is a way of understanding how people make choices and strive for personal growth and fulfillment. This approach suggests that each person has the ability to make choices based on their own values and beliefs, and that individuals have the potential to achieve their full potential.
