Welcome to Physical Science

It’s about non-living things.

This web site provides free-to-use physical science curriculum for high school teachers, students, and parent-guardians. Physical science is as a branch of natural science that tries to explain and predict nature’s phenomena based on empirical evidence. Some example branches of physical science are physics, astronomy, inorganic chemistry, and earth science. Physical science is the study of non-living things – in contrast to biology which is the study of living things.

You can learn more about chemistry and earth science on this site. Some of the topics presented in both of those subject areas will be touched-upon in this course of study – although not as in-depth.

This course presents some aspects of physics. Physics is the study of matter and its motion through space and time. Physics includes the study of energy and force. We will take a glimpse into some interesting physics concepts.

Example Physics Topics

Physical Science is a HUGE-big-huge-BIG topic. We will not be able to deeply cover everything in a single year. But, we will be able to cover enough ground so that you view your world differently at the end of the year than at the beginning. You will have opportunities to discover and understand exciting concepts – as well as reinforce some things you have already known.

A thrilling reality of physical science is that the study-of-it will challenge you in a variety of ways. Sometimes, it will be like learning the secret behind a magic trick. Other times, it will be like finally learning how certain things happen – the why, the where, and the how.

Here’s a Question For You …

Physical Science is Cool

I’m so glad you are taking this drive. It’s going to be a lot of fun and an interesting year!
